Mrs. Noreen Bohl

Kindergarten

Mrs. Bohl has taught at IGLLS since the school began 19 years ago. She has taught a total of 36 years, previously at Bethlehem Lutheran, Sheboygan, WI; Zion, Denison, IA; Immanuel Lutheran, Lakefield, MN; Lutheran Interparish in Williamsburg, IA; and Iowa Lakes Community College, Emmetsburg, IA. She is married to Gregg and has three married children: Matthew and Stacy, Jason and Andrea, and Kala and Nate. She has been blessed with eight grandchildren: Julia, Ashly, Jake, Peyton, Gracie, Lawton, Hadley, and Leo. Lucy and Millie are the Bohls’ rescue dogs. Her favorite activities are spending time with her husband and family, being outdoors enjoying God’s beautiful world, and enjoying her dogs.

This is Ms. Egland’s first year at IGLLS. She taught at First English Lutheran Preschool for a year. She is the oldest of four daughters of Mike and Charla Egland. She loves pets and has two cats, Willow and Fern, and a dog named Jep. She loves to spend time at the lake and lives by the motto, “Lake life is the best life!”

Mrs. Nitzel has taught at IGLLS for 2 years. Prior to teaching here, she taught at Zion Lutheran School in Beaver, MI, Immanuel Lutheran School, Bay City, MI, Bloomington High School, Bloomington, IL, Trinity Lutheran School, Bloomington, IL. She has been teaching for 12 years. Heather is married to Pastor Chris Nitzel, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley. They have four children: Aiden, Josiah, Simeon, and Caleb. They have a Siberian husky named Shadow. Her favorite hobbies include reading, spending time with family, taking the dog for walks, camping, bike riding, playing tennis, cooking, baking, listening to Christian music, going to concerts, traveling, watching musicals and movies, and entertaining.

This is Mrs. Milbrath’s first year of teaching. She graduated from Augustana last May. She is married to Cole. In her spare time she loves to be outside kayaking, camping, spending time at the lake or biking. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Shauer has been teaching at IGLLS for 15 years. Prior to IGLLS, she taught at Immanuel Lutheran, Waterloo, IA, and Trinity/Faribault Lutheran, Faribault, MN. She has taught a total of 21 years. She and her husband Michael have 3 daughters, Abigail, Jenna, and Megan, and 2 dogs Jazzie and Finn. She especially likes to read, camp, hike, and do some crafts.

Mrs. Dallman has been teaching at IGLLS for 3 years. She has been teaching a total of 18 years, starting at Columbus Community Schools and Knoxville Community Schools prior to teaching at IGLLS. She is married to Shannon and has a step-daughter Makenzie. In her free time, Mrs. Dallman likes to spend time with family and read.

Physical Education

This is Mrs. Parsons’ first year teaching at IGLLS. Prior to IGLLS, she was a teacher and coach for 4 years at Newtown-Harris High School, Newtown, MO and has been a stay-at-home mom since moving to Spencer in 2011. She is married to Jeremy. They have 3 sons, Creighton, Silas, and Milo. In her free time, Mrs. Parsons enjoys reading, listening to Christian music, watching and attending sporting events, traveling, and spending time with family.

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Tom Rutt
Band Teacher

Mr. Rutt provides band instruction at IGLLS. He has been providing private lessons at IGLLS since 2009. Mr. Rutt also assists with lessons at the Spencer Middle School and taught instrumental music for 3 years at Lytton and 7 years at Emmetsburg. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife Tierny, son Eric and daughter Sarah. Mr. Rutt is on the approved adjudicator list for the Iowa High School Music Association and also enjoys reading, walking and biking.

Psalm 104: 33-34 – "I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord."

Mrs. Popp is in her first year at IGLLS. She moved from San Antonio, TX, where she was assistant principal and math teacher at Lutheran High School. She also taught at St. Mark Lutheran in Houston, TX. She has been teaching a total of 27 years. Mrs. Popp is married to Michael and they have a dog named Winston. Outside of school, Mrs. Popp enjoys running, music, reading, and going to estate sales.

Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

This is Mrs. Pearson’s first year at IGLLS. Prior to working here she worked at the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation. She worked on several economic development tasks, but thoroughly enjoyed working on the youth entrepreneurial initiative. Holly is married to Jay Pearson. They have two boys Hunter & Hugh. Holly loves traveling, being at the lake, boating, canoeing, golfing, and snow skiing.
